APRIL PRESIDENT'S LETTER

With the days growing longer and the sunshine bringing a much-needed boost of energy, we’re feeling recharged and ready for what’s ahead. As summer approaches, we’re excited about the events and initiatives we have in store, and deeply thankful for the ongoing support and enthusiasm of our incredible members.

Last month, we had the privilege of welcoming AAPL President Nancy McCaskell to our Presidents Night, where she shared valuable insights on both AAPL and the broader industry. The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, and it was fantastic to see so many Past Presidents, both from OCAPL and AAPL, in attendance. A special thank you goes out to Dianna for joining the panel and to Julie Woodard for moderating the discussion.

Earlier this month, OCAPL hosted our Field Landman Seminar at River Oaks, as well as our Educational Luncheon at the Petroleum Alliance. Although I was unable to attend, the feedback I received was overwhelmingly positive. These events provided great opportunities for our members to connect, expand their networks, and earn educational credits. A big thank you to our committees for putting together yet another successful event.

On Friday, April 25, we kicked off the year’s Community Affairs initiatives with a volunteer project for Rebuilding Together. The focus of the project was exterior home painting and yard work. The homeowner had received notice that their insurance company was considering canceling the policy due to the poor condition of the home’s exterior. A special thank you to Ascent Resources for being the primary sponsor for this project, and to Halo Land and Continental Land for sponsoring our breakfast and lunch!

I’m also thrilled to share that the Community Affairs Committee has been nominated by AAPL as the 2024-2025 Community Service Award Winners! This committee works tirelessly to provide OCAPL members with opportunities to volunteer, while also raising awareness for the charitable organizations we support. Their dedication to these causes highlights their commitment to making a positive impact in the Oklahoma City community. Please join me in congratulating them on this well-deserved recognition!

Events like these remind us of what it means to be part of a premier organization. We’re fortunate to be able to gather together, network, learn, and give back to our community.

Looking ahead to the summer, we’re excited to announce that our upcoming golf tournament is officially full! A huge thank you to everyone who signed up—we can’t wait to spend the day with you, enjoying great company and great competition.

As always, we are deeply appreciative of your ongoing support and involvement. If you have any suggestions for the Board or ideas for future events, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

I look forward to seeing each of you at our upcoming events.

Sincerely,

Clarke Richards, CPL
